HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? 1 - 3 years is typical for most people. Lighter colors will fade faster than the darker colors. Very active lifestyles (sweating), exposure to sun and oily skin types may need refreshers more often. To maintain your permanent makeup, touch ups are recommended every 12 months to 3 years Permanent makeup is designed to fade over time. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, age, metabolism, medications, and pigment color affect the longevity of the tattoo. The sun exposure and some kinds of lighting (tanning beds) can affect the rate at which these pigments remain in the skin. Following your aftercare instructions is critical to getting your best healed results Touch-up your PMU every 12-36 months (as needed). Touch-ups are normal and expected for permanent cosmetics. Picking the proper service for your skin type and following your aftercare will lead to beautiful results for years to come! *Please note that final results vary and CANNOT be guaranteed due to the nature of skin as it heals. A follow-up appointment is recommended 6-8 weeks after your initial session where we can assess your pigment retention and perfect your permanent makeup!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Permanent Beachface offers exceptional services at a reasonable rate. INITAL SESSION (Brows/Lips) - $550 7-10 WEEK TOUCH UP - $50 (touch ups after 10 weeks are $100) YEARLY REFRESHER - $250-$350 *A card on file will be required when booking* $100 booking retainer will be collected at time of online booking (Venmo, Cashapp, Applepay preferred or your debit/credit card (3.5% fee) on file can be used and is deducted off the total price of your service. This retainer is non-refundable After the initial session and touch up, most clients at Permanent Beachface are able to go 1-3 years between refresher appointments!
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DIRECTLY AFTER MY APPOINTMENT? Immediately after getting your brows, lips tattooed, you may experience minor redness or swelling around the area, which will subside within 24 hours. Over the next few hours after the appointment, the pigment in the skin will oxidize, making the pigment look darker and warmer than they will heal. This is normal and expected. Pigment typically fades anywhere from 20-40% once fully healed. Around day 3-4, you may notice light scabbing and flaking on the treated area. This is normal! Please do not pick at the dry skin. Doing so will result in loss of pigment in those areas and can cause scarring. Brows/Lips may appear spotty or patchy until the entire area has finished healing. Once all the flaking is complete, the brows/lips will appear much lighter. The pigment will return over the next 4-6 weeks in its healed color. You will receive after care instructions with helpful tools to guide you through the healing process At 4-6 weeks, your brows/lips will be fully healed. Whatever pigment that does not return will be addressed at your touch up appointment. At this appointment, we will address your retention, touch up the areas that did not retain pigment and can adjust the color slightly to give you perfect brows/lips! Once the treated area has healed from your touch up appointment, you will have beautiful, full brows/lips for 12-36 months!
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY PMU INVESTMENT? after care is super important and if you don't care for your cosmetic tattoos you wont get the results you want. Please plan ahead for your permanent makeup aftercare. Aftercare instructions and products are given to you after your appointment. Planning vacations and outdoor events are not recommended directly after your tattoo appointment. -2 weeks of healing time for Brows -1 week of healing time for Lip Blush After care packages are sent home with clients to ensure you have what you need to succeed! aftercare ointment/balm will need to be used and your pmu cleansed daily with provided materials
HOW LONG DOES THE APPOINTMENT TAKE? Initial sessions take about 3 hours. Touch up appointments usually take 1.5 hours. LIPS Please dress comfortably and prepare to lay down for up to 3 hours. Please begin moisturizing your lips a week prior to your appointment. Chronically dry or chapped lips should be well moisturized prior If you experience cold sores (herpes) please take an antiviral from your doctor 1 week -3 days prior to your appointment to help prevent an outbreak. BROWS Please dress comfortably and prepare to lay down for up to 3 hours. Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before procedure Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT Failure to follow pre-care may result in you being sent home and asked to reschedule the day of your appointment, so please read the following carefully! You must not have received Botox, fillers, laser treatments, or chemical peels within the last 4 weeks You must discontinue the use of Vitamin A, Retin A, retinol, tretinoin, and glycolic acid 2 weeks prior to your appointment and 2 weeks after appointment. If not discontinued, your healed results will vary. Do not expose your face to the sun prior to your appointment. If your skin is sunburned you must reschedule your appointment. Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours before your tattoo Do not consume substances like prescription pain killers before your procedure Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this will thin the blood) Although we can end up changing the shape of the brows, we do not remove excess amounts of your own hair to keep the eyebrows as natural looking as possible. Please do not wax or pluck brow hairs prior to your appointment. Open follicles can allow pigment to settle in these spaces and create unwanted pigment deposits.
DAY OF APPOINTMENT Failure to follow pre-care may result in you being sent home and asked to reschedule the day of your appointment, so please read the following carefully! You must not have received Botox, fillers, laser treatments, or chemical peels within the last 4 weeks Avoid heavy exercise and caffeine. Exercising and caffeine increases blood flow and will cause excessive bleeding, leading to poor healed results. Drink plenty of water! Makeup: You are welcome to come to your Brow or Lip Blush appointment with or without makeup on. We will be taking photos, so come however you are most comfortable. If you regularly fill in your brows, coming with at least your brows filled in helps me to see how you normally style your brows. You will be sent home with aftercare instructions for all Permanent Makeup & Tattoo services. Brows & Tattoos take 10-14 days to completely heal. You must avoid sun, sweat, water, makeup, and facial/laser services, so please plan accordingly. Lips take 3-7 days to heal.
AFTER CARE USE A CLEAN MASK EVERY TIME YOU PRACTICE COVID_19 RESTRICTIONS POST PROCEDURE Any swelling and redness will subside within 24 hours any swelling or redness lasting longer than 24 hours could be a sign of allergic reaction/infection and should be seen by a doctor Do Not saturate your lips, brows, or freckles in water, overexpose them to hot water, or sweat on the tattooed area during the healing process. SERIOUSLY no swimming, or submerging, no saunas or long hot showers avoid heavy workout for 7 days do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight during the healing process (please plan vacations around healing) Wear a thin layer of balm on your tattoo to protect it during the healing process Lips 7 days Brows 10-14 days Use a clean finger or q-tip to apply aftercare Do not pick, scratch or remove any scabs or dry skin that may result from the healing process of your new tattoo Wash your tattoo daily gently use cool water and the soap provided until fully healed Rinse thoroughly and pat dry directly after with a clean towel No makeup can go on the area for 14 days. You may wear makeup around the area, but leave at least one inch around them at all times to prevent infection.
WHAT FACTORS WILL EFFECT MY RESULTS? Oily Skin: Increased oil production can cause hair strokes to blur and fade very quickly, or implant at all. If you have combination or oily skin, you are a candidate for a combination or powder brows, but not for microblading. Increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading. I recommend all my clients wear spf to protect their healed brows from the sun. Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. Pinpoint bleeding throughout the procedure is normal, but excessive bleeding causes pigment to fade very quickly and heal ashy. While bleeding is not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow before care instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications and alcohol 24 hours before your procedure. Improper Pre and Post Care/Not following the given pre and post care instructions will greatly diminish your healed results. Follow all instructions exactly for the best results! please come prepared beforehand and follow all instructions exactly afterwards for the best results.
DO I NEED A TOUCH UP APPOINTMENT? Yes! PMU is a two-step process, and a touch up is strongly recommended to get the best results. Also known as the “perfecting session”, a touch up is done 6-10 weeks after your initial session, and is where we assess your retention, perfect the shape and color, and add more dimension. Touch ups are very important and add to the overall results and longevity of your PMU. Because Jessica typically books out months in advance, it is strongly encouraged to book your touch up appointment at the same time as you complete your initial session. Setting up both appointments in advance ensures you will get in on time for your touch up and get the best results!
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY ANNUAL REFRESHER? After your initial session and 6-10 week touch up are completed, most clients are able to go 1-3 years between refreshers! The longevity of your PMU will depend on your skin type, choosing the right style of pmu for your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you take care of them. Things like excessive sun exposure and some skincare products can shorten the life of your PMU and cause them to fade into unnatural colors. Be sure to follow the long term aftercare instructions provided by Jessica to keep you brows looking amazing for as long as possible! Before booking an annual refresher, it’s important to let your brows fade at least 50-60%. Letting the previous ink fade allows us to keep that ink fresh in the skin! If the ink in your skin from previous appointments isn’t faded enough, adding more ink can cause the entire brow to look blotchy and uneven. LET THEM FADE! Before booking your 12-36 Month Refresher, please email pictures to beachface.browstudio@gmail.com and I will let you know if its time or if you should wait longer!
DOES IT HURT? No, a topical anesthetic is used to numb before and during your PMU procedure for your comfort. In most cases when using only the tattoo machine, the process is so gentle little numbing is needed. However, sensitivity differs from person to person. Most clients are comfortable enough to sleep through the procedure Please do not take any blood thinners such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin 24 hours before your procedure. Please notify your artist if you are allergic to lidocaine.
I’VE HAD MY BROWS DONE BEFORE, WILL YOU DO THEM? I require that anyone who has had their brows done previously by another artist, request a virtual consultation prior to booking any pmu brow/lip appointments to make sure I am comfortable working over the existing work. You may be asked to schedule an in-person consultation appointment if a determination cannot be made virtually. I typically only go over other artists work if it’s at least 85-90% faded, and all new clients are considered initial sessions. I want to give my clients the very best, and help create their dream brows. If I don’t think we can achieve what you’re wanting with your existing work, I will give recommendations on how to help the ink fade more quickly or recommend removal. If you have previous permanent makeup (not done by me), please email me first so that I can determine if I will be able to work over the previous permanent makeup. If you do not have prior approval and come to your scheduled appointment and I am unable to tattoo your brows/lips, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee (of service total) and asked to reschedule (if I am able to work over top of the existing work.
